A first-half horror show in Indiana saw Enzo Maresca’s side give up two goals in just over half an hour – heading into the break with the score 2-0.

The opening goal came from Matt O’Riley, who found himself completely unmarked in the box and managed to find Robert Sanchez.

While Kyogo Furuhashi doubled Celtic’s lead just 14 minutes later after a shocking defensive display from Chelsea.

Despite having five defenders in the box, the Blues were left motionless when O’Riley played a simple pass in front of goal for Kyogo to slot into the back of the net.

The efforts of Maresca’s team sent Chelsea fans into a fury online, with many struggling to believe the efforts they saw from their team.

One wrote: “I hope the season never starts. The Chelsea curse is very active.”

While another added: “Our defense is non-existent. Chelsea are making Celtic look like the best Barcelona.”

A third fumed: “What happened to my team?!”

And a fourth countered: “Chelsea won’t even make the top 10 in the Premier League this season.”

Pre-season has already been shaky, with disappointing results before the first half against Celtic.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have already drawn 2-2 with newly promoted League One club Wrexham, needing an 82nd-minute equalizer to come away with anything.

And expectations were high for next season, with the arrival of new coach Maresca to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea struggled in the Premier League last season, finishing sixth and winning just 18 of 38 games.
