Good test
Erik ten Hag believes the opportunity to face last season’s Premier League runners-up in the United States represents a “good test” for his team.
And he insists he’s here to win the game too.
He said: “We are delighted to be here and to bring, I think, the best Premier League football to Los Angeles. And I think that for all fans it is a great opportunity, as we are often not so close because the season does not allow us to come more often.
“But I think this is a great opportunity to watch two of the best teams in the world. We want to win every game. And Arsenal will take the same approach against us.
“It’s a good test for both clubs, I’m sure they are both very eager to win.”
Roll up
Reports that Toby Collyer is in Manchester United’s starting XI tonight.
I actually saw the youngster first-hand when United visited Murrayfield last week – and he was very, very impressive.
Strong on the ball, tenacious on the way out. He has a bright future and this would be another great chance for him if he is involved.
Get help
Mikel Arteta was asked about the importance of a win in tonight’s clash.
The Spaniard believes that this would bring “good vibes” and says it is a great night for his team.
He said: “Winning always helps – it brings belief, it brings good vibes.
“We’re playing against one of the best teams in the world in one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, built by our owners, so it’s a big day for us.
“I think the message is very clear: we need more from everyone. That means that, personally, I have to raise my standards and I need to bring something that I haven’t brought yet, and individually and collectively we have to do the same.”
