JULIAN ALVAREZ admitted he is not happy about being left out of Manchester City’s biggest games.
And the Argentina international says he will make a decision about his club’s future once the Olympics are over.
Alvarez is currently in Paris after helping his country win the Copa América earlier this summer – so he will not return to the Etihad until September.
Now it raises doubts as to whether it will ever return – with Atletico Madrid among the clubs monitoring the situation.
He said: “Last season I was one of the City players with the most minutes in the team.
“But it’s true; at the end of the day, you don’t like sitting out important games. You want to contribute.
“I haven’t stopped to think clearly about what I’m going to do.
“When the Olympics are over, I will think about what I want for myself. We’ll see what comes next.”
The World Cup winner has been at City for two years and has enjoyed great success at the club.
However, he is unlikely to get the central role he wants as long as Erling Haaland remains at the Etihad.

Alvarez scored 19 goals in all competitions for City last season, an impressive return that is still overshadowed by the 38 scored by teammate Haaland.
Alvarez signed for City from River Plate in 2022 and has managed to build an enviable trophy cabinet for club and country since making the switch.
The 24-year-old has won the Champions League, the FA Cup, two Premier League titles, the World Cup and the Copa América.
But the striker still appears hungry for more glory with his ambition to play even more important games.
He is vying for Olympic gold this summer, representing Javier Mascherano’s Argentina team in France.
Alvarez and his teammates return to action tomorrow when they take on Ukraine in hopes of securing their place in the knockout stages.
