MANCHESTER UNITED fans are excited for Marcus Rashford after seeing what they can expect next season.

And some fans think their improvements may be down to new assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy.

A clip of Rashford putting together some precise one-touch passing and quick decision-making has United fans excited for the season ahead.

Rashford, 26, played 45 minutes in United’s 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles last week.

Video from the first half of the game shows Rashford dropping deep to help the Red Devils mount a tricky counter-attack.

The 60-times England cap returns to his defensive third spot, where he becomes an outlet for players to do quick doubles.

The quick pass helped Man Utd break through Arsenal’s midfield and defense lines, but the attack was ultimately fruitless after Amad Diallo sent his shot into the path of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Despite no goals resulting from the efforts of Erik ten Hag’s side, fans are encouraged by what they are seeing – especially from Rashford.

One wrote: “Rashford has often been criticized for taking too many touches and making decisions.

“Every action here depends on ONE touch from him, I feel like he is benefiting from the new coaches.”

While another added: “I think he will have a great season this time.”

A third commented: “Rashford is going to shut everyone up this season.”

And a fourth attributed Rashford’s new look to new manager Van Nistelrooy, writing: “The Ruud effect is kicking in.”

Rashford struggled for form last season, scoring just seven Premier League goals in 33 appearances.

And his dip in form has seen him miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 this summer.

But it appears the additions of Man Utd legend Van Nistelrooy and former Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake to the Carrington coaching team could help them return to their best.

There is still time for him to continue to learn before United begin their season proper with the annual curtain raiser when they face Man City in the Community Shield on August 10.

The Red Devils are still touring the United States and will face Real Betis in San Diego before a friendly with Liverpool in South Carolina on Saturday night to conclude the tour.
