Chelsea have signed Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen for £20.7 million (€24.5 million).
The 22-year-old had a £38m release clause, but the Blues signed him for a much lower fee and signed him to a mammoth seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Jörgensen, who was capped by Denmark at Under-21 level, leaves Villarreal after making 36 appearances for the LaLiga club, the majority of which came last season when he excelled and established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper.
With his arrival, Chelsea now have six goalkeepers on their books, namely Đorđe Petrović, Robert Sánchez and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who returned from a season-long loan at Real Madrid.
Kepa and Petrović are expected to depart now.
Jörgensen is the seventh signing of another very busy summer for the west London club, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Caleb Wiley, Renato Veiga and Omari Kellyman having already arrived.
