Chelsea have accepted a bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Conor Gallagher after he rejected a new contract with the Blues in June.
The 24-year-old England international can now negotiate personal terms after an offer of around £33 million, according to Spanish sources, was accepted.
It is understood that Chelsea would prefer a sale to a club outside of English football, which is why they opted to accept a lower offer rather than the £45 million that was being discussed with Aston Villa in June.
It remains unclear whether Gallagher will accept a move abroad, but the Londoners are ready to sell with less than a year remaining on his current contract.
He is believed to have turned down a three-year deal, structured into a two-year deal with an option for a further year, in June.
Gallagher could also choose to leave the club on a free transfer next summer and has already had interest from Tottenham, West Ham and Everton.
