With great rotation on both sides throughout the match, Milan achieved a narrow victory over Real Madrid in front of a packed Soldier Field in Chicago.
Top scorers: Chukwueze 55′
Neither side could really build momentum, perhaps due to the erratic nature of each manager’s team selection, resulting in a lack of attacking power in the first 45 minutes.
The game finally came to life after half-time when Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring before the hour mark.
As in the first half, Real Madrid had difficulty gaining strength in attack without any of their stars on the field, which made things relatively easy for Milan’s rearguard.
However, the result will have little effect on the mood of either side, as their attention will be focused on the next preparatory match.
Milan are hoping for a friendly clash with Barcelona, while Real Madrid will also face their LaLiga rivals.
