Manchester United suffered some serious injuries ahead of the pre-season clash with Liverpoolas Erik ten Witch Now try to refresh your side.

Both Premier League heavyweights will face off this Sunday at Williams – Brice Stadium in South Carolina ahead of United’s Community Shield game against Manchester City on August 10.

Following the Red Devil’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Real Betis in the early hours of Thursday morning, however, several important players will be left out through injury.

For example, Leny Yoro, who Ten Hag signed from Lille for £52 million, will not play after the 18-year-old defender suffered a foot injury in last Sunday’s game against Arsenal, which will keep him out of the team for the next three . months.

Likewise, Rasmus Hojlund could face up to six weeks of recovery after picking up a hamstring problem, meaning Ten Hag will be forced to reshape his frontline.

What is more, Marcus Rashford and Antony must still recover from Wednesday’s win over Betis, making it unlikely they will also feature against Liverpool.

The most obvious attacking options to start for United are Mason Mount and Hannibal Mejbri, who came off the bench in the 60th minute against Betis.

Amad Diallo, meanwhile, is likely to retain his position on the wing after a brilliant performance, while Jason Sancho, who returned to Old Trafford this summer after a solid season with Borussia Dortmund, could make way for Mejbri.

Scott McTominay will then likely be promoted to a more progressive position on the pitch, having proven his worth as a goal threat after scoring ten goals from midfield last season.

This would create an opportunity for Casemiro and Christian Erikson to drop deeper, restoring their partnership in the center of United’s midfield.

As for Ten Hag’s defense, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Amass are likely to be kept out, while Jonny Evans could come in alongside Victor Lindelof at centre-back to replace the injured Harry Maguire. Andre Onana could also replace Tom Heaton after the 38-year-old goalkeeper had a rather disappointing game against Betis.

Furthermore, United will be without captain Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and new signing Joshua Zirkzee, who are yet to return after this summer’s international tournament.
