It was a disappointing display from Kilmarnock in the first half, far from what they showed last week.
There was little composure on the ball – which led to little time on the ball – and little composure off it. Cercle’s goal was entirely avoidable and there were a few more opportunities that Kilmarnock offered freely.
However, the hosts failed to adequately punish Kilmarnock and there was a period in the second half when it looked like the visitors would force a goal.
But there was no composure in the box either. Findlay and Watkins wasted chances in the second half that should have rattled the net and when those chances were not converted, hope dwindled.
