Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has revealed he is still not 100 percent fit despite a positive start to pre-season.
The France international scored in each of Chelsea’s first three pre-season games and received praise from his manager. But when asked about his physical condition, Nkunku appeared cautious about making any statement that his problems were behind him.
He said: “I know I’m not 100 per cent right now, but I’m working on it and hopefully I’ll be fit soon.
“I’m feeling better since last year. I just want to have a good pre-season and be ready for the championship.
“Best scorer [in pre-season] It’s just a detail. I just want to be in shape and find my level.”
Nkunku, who has played predominantly in midfield but also as a winger, adds that he is happy to remain a versatile option for new coach Enzo Maresca: “At the moment, I don’t have a favorite position. .
“We just want to work and accept the coach’s idea.”
