CHELSEA fans have criticized the decision to banish Conor Gallagher from the starting line-up.
The 24-year-old was informed in a meeting yesterday that he will not be able to train with his team-mates when he returns to Cobham on Monday.
Gallagher, who has been at the club since he was eight years old, turned down a new three-year contract.
He wants to stay at Stamford Bridge but is unhappy having only been offered a shorter contract compared to the seven and eight year offers made to his teammates.
Since then, Chelsea have been trying to sell him, with new manager Enzo Maresca saying he will not start because he does not suit their style of play in possession.
The Blues accepted a £57m offer from Aston Villa in June but the midfielder rejected the move.
Chelsea have already agreed a £33m deal with Atletico Madrid for Gallagher.
And the Spanish club gives him until this weekend to decide whether he wants to join.
If they choose Atlético, Chelsea will lose a player who captained the team on several occasions last season.
Statistics show that the English star was more important to the team than the £100m+ duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Gallagher managed more goals and assists than both and won more tackles per 90.
He also made more interceptions and created more chances than his midfield rivals.
Meanwhile, Chelsea fans are unhappy with the treatment of Gallagher and have criticized the club.
One said: “Whether you rate him or not, the reports that he was exiled are embarrassing. Our gym products should be treated with more respect.”
Another added: “What a shame.”
A third reacted: “Absolutely insane, what a club joke.”
Gallagher will train with fellow exile Trevoh Chalobah, away from Maresca’s squad, as the Blues also look to offload him.
