HIS ex Alli has revealed what first went through her mind when armed intruders broke into her £2million London mansion.
The thieves made off with £35,000 worth of the English star’s watches and jewelery – including a Rolex.
But Dele’s ex Ruby Mae has now told The Sun all about how the horror unfolded – and the fact her attackers are still at large.
The 29-year-old said she was in her bedroom while the footballer and his friends were downstairs playing pool.
Ruby said she had just taken her poodle Uno outside to go to the bathroom before the two masked men barged in.
They attacked Dele, before trying to rip off the model’s rings and bracelets.
Speaking for the first time about her ordeal in London, she said: “I thought I was going to be killed.
“It was scary. I just hoped it would all be over and we were safe.”
Desperate Ruby said her instant reaction was to protect Uno in the £2million north London home.
The model bravely said: “When the thief walked in, my first instinct was to protect the dog.
“I wasn’t answering any of their questions because I was in shock and didn’t know at this point that there were two of them – and that one was already taking the jewelry with Dele.
“I couldn’t take off the jewelry because I was panicking and holding the dog behind me.
“I wasn’t responding to his requests and I was afraid they would hurt Uno.
“I didn’t know whether to count or not and I didn’t even know where everything was. I wasn’t thinking straight.”
The traumatized model lay in the dark as men with concealed weapons burst into the room.
She said the thieves attacked Dele and made him hand over three watches, including a Rolex.
Ruby was in bed with the lights off and the men grabbed her arms to get her rings and bracelets.
They were unable to catch them before they panicked and fled with the goods.
Ruby and Dele’s relationship
Ruby and Dele split in 2021 – less than a year after the attack – with Ruby saying they “drifted” and lost their spark.
They met in a London bar in 2016 and for five years they were one of the most photographed young couples in Britain.
Former Tottenham midfielder Dele won the PFA Young Player of the Year award two years in a row and made his Three Lions debut aged 19 in 2015.
He scored in the 2-0 win over Sweden in the 2018 World Cup quarter-final in Russia, with Ruby, from Wigston, Leics, cheering him on with fellow Wags.
But Dele lost his place in the England squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers and has not yet been called up.
He left Spurs for Everton in January 2022, but failed to impress and was loaned to Turkish side Besiktas.
He returned early and has yet to play for Everton this season.
Last year, Dele revealed that one of his mother’s friends abused him as a child.
He also spent six weeks in rehab in the United States because of his addiction to sleeping pills.
Last Monday, Dele appeared on Sky Sports as an analyst as his team were beaten 6-0 by Chelsea.
He revealed his ambitions to play for England again, saying: “You know you can set reminders on your phone. I have a reminder every day at 11am that says ‘World Cup 2026’. That’s my goal for now.
“I know how good I can be when my head is in the right place and I feel good.”
Ruby remains a successful model and said: “People think it’s a glamorous life, but it’s quite hectic, with a lot of pressure to look a certain way.
“The good thing is that you meet incredible people, work with different brands every day and travel.”
Ruby recalled: “It was like a movie. I was afraid that all kinds of things would happen.
“I honestly didn’t know what was coming next.”
She was watching the Netflix thriller Dead To Me and Dele and his friends were playing pool downstairs when the thieves slipped past security to get in through the back door.
Ruby said: “They assaulted Dele and forced him to go upstairs with them to the wardrobe area, which is separate from the bedroom.
“I couldn’t see the door from the bed, but Dele’s friend came first.
“They came to me in a panic and I immediately knew something was wrong. Your friend wouldn’t normally enter the room.
When the thief entered, my first instinct was to protect the dog.

“Behind the friend, near the door, there was what appeared to be a silhouette. I was confused and said, ‘His?’ and the guy didn’t respond.
“I realized this guy didn’t have the same height or body structure as Dele. He came up to me and was very intimidating.
“He started asking me where everything was as he tried to take off my bracelets and rings.”
Ruby said the intruders began to panic when they realized how long they had been in the house.
She added: “They jumped over the front fence and made off with whatever they could find. I have no idea how they got past security and into the house.
“The police showed up a few minutes later. They were very helpful and made sure we were ok.”
I read the police statement at the time
Police were called at approximately 00:35 on Wednesday, May 13, to reports of a robbery at a residential address.
Two men managed to enter the property and stole jewelry, including watches, before fleeing.
Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted.
They did not require hospital treatment. There were no arrests. Investigations into the circumstances continue.
Dele, 27, his adopted brother Harry Hickford, 27, and their friend were left very shaken.
Ruby added: “This has affected us all. Being mugged is one thing, but being mugged when you’re inside is very scary. We were all speechless.
“We were all like, ‘What the hell happened?’ We didn’t even know what to say to each other.
“We were all very emotional and had ups and downs. We were tired and had to do police interrogations. It was all very traumatic.
“Psychologically, it had an impact. Being alone at home is scarier than before.
“I still think about it from time to time. I can’t believe this happened. It was terrible.”
A watch is a watch, who cares. As long as you are safe, that is the most important thing.

Following the May 2020 Covid lockdown operation, police gave Dele and Ruby alarms to activate if they were in danger, signaling the police directly.
Ruby said they sounded randomly weeks later and police showed up with a dog unit within minutes.
The alarms added to the 24-hour security that already existed before the invasion.
No arrests were made and the attackers remain at large.
Ruby said: “It’s a really strange feeling knowing that the people who did this were never caught and are still out there.
“But they took things that can be replaced, so I’m glad we got through it without anything really serious happening.
“A watch is a watch, who cares. As long as you’re safe, that’s the most important thing.”
