WRESTLING fans were surprised last night when a former AEW star made a shocking NXT debut.
Both Jade Cargill It is CM Punk moved from Tony Khan’s company to WWE during the past year.
AND Brian Pillman Jr, who now competes as Lexis King on the company’s developmental brand, NXT, is another.
However, no one expected to see Ethan Page’s arrival on Tuesday as the 34-year-old took everyone by surprise.
NXT Champion Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans defeated The Gallus in the show’s main event, just seconds before the real drama unfolded.
After that match, Meta-Four member Lash Legend confronted Williams about the unknown attacks on his stablemates Noam Dar and Oro Mensah.
The title holder vehemently denied the allegations before the lights suddenly went out.
But when they returned, Williams appeared and soon attacked Williams in a violent attack.
He then revealed himself to be the mastermind of the previous attacks on the Meta-Four men before capturing the NXT Championship and raising it above his head as the show ended.
He then broke his silence following the shocking X debut, mocking Williams using his new rival’s popular catchphrase.
He wrote: “I think I screamed at this trick.”
Fans had already flooded social media following his surprise appearance and it seems they can’t wait to see how his rivalry with Williams unfolds.
“Ethan Page is a really great option for WWE,” declared one.
Another wrote: “Ethan Page is so underrated. Even as an individual competitor. I never had an opportunity in AEW. He will thrive in NXT/WWE.”
A third commented: “Ethan Page is an incredible worker, stays in great shape, is phenomenal on the mic, sells tons of toys and has a solid following that goes beyond pro wrestling, and he’s going to make a real difference in NXT.”
While a fourth said: “Ethan Page in NXT is crazy, this guy had the potential to be a superstar.
“It’s about time someone gave him the chance to show that potential.”

And a fifth added: “Ethan Page vs Trick Williams is going to be CRAZY.”
Joined page AEW in 2021, after working for Ring of Honor and Impact before that.
His last match came at Collision last July, when he suffered a loss to then-AEW World Champion MJF.
He then appeared in AEW’s sister company ROH, but had not been seen since December, while in May his profile was removed from both companies’ websites due to his tenure with the companies.
Multiple media outlets are reporting that he was at WWE’s Performance Center last week to finalize his deal to join them.
