McIntyre will go into one of the biggest matches of his career in Glasgow this weekend.

But The Scottish Warrior will be thinking elsewhere while his wife undergoes emergency surgery.

However, Kaitlyn, 32, encouraged him to stay focused and bring the World Heavyweight Championship home.

Speaking before the fight at his press conference, McIntyre said: “I have never, ever been more focused in my life.

“The last Clash was a stab in my heart, in the hearts of my family, across the UK.

“I can’t let this happen again in Scotland. I’m back home. I couldn’t have dreamed of this moment.

“I’m going to have my people there, my family there, a do-over, a chance to fix this.

“I wasn’t going to talk about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it.

“The only person who won’t be there is my wife, because she’s in surgery right now, emergency surgery.

“And she said to me, ‘I want you to go out there and bring that title home.’ And I’m going to bring that title home.”
