WWE SmackDown – The basics

WWE SmackDown is an American professional wrestling television program produced by WWE that, beginning in January 2023, airs live every Friday at 8 pm ET on Fox.

It is also known as Friday Night SmackDown or just SmackDown.

The program is simulcast on Fox Deportes with commentary in Spanish.

Characters from the SmackDown brand, who WWE personnel are tasked with working and performing for, appear on the show.

The show, along with Monday Night Raw, is currently considered one of the top two shows in October 2022.

More about Jade Cargill’s personal life

In 2017, Jade and her husband Brandon welcomed a daughter named Bailey Quinn, and in 2022, they became co-owners of the Austin-based professional softball franchise, Texas Smoke.

Jade said Brandon was initially against her becoming a professional wrestler, but changed his mind after he saw her in the ring.

“He didn’t want me to get hurt,” said the fighter People. “But one day he came to the gym and I was fighting and since then he saw me in a different light. I’m a very soft-spoken woman, but now he saw me there, taking control and making all these crazy moves.”

Meet Jade Cargill’s Husband

All eyes are on Jade Cargill after her explosive debut on SmackDown, but many fans may not know that she is a married woman.

She is married to Brandon Phillips, a retired MLB athlete who played for the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels and Boston Red Sox.

Phillips is known for being one of the best second basemen in baseball, having received four Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, a Silver Slugger Award and selected to three National League All-Star teams.

Cargill and Phillips met through a mutual friend when she was still playing basketball.

Jade Cargill’s experience with wrestling

Although Jade Cargill is new to WWE, she is a veteran when it comes to the sport of wrestling.

“It’s something I’ve always liked. Me and my brother used to be in the front yard practicing all kinds of wrestling moves. I say this all the time, I got bad knees, I broke this and that,” she said Bleacher report in an interview.

“I grew up watching it. I walked away from that around age 15. And then I started to really focus on sports and basketball. But I mean, I think everyone grew up watching wrestling and the 90s. If you were born in the 90s, it was everything,” he added.

Jade earned a master’s degree to become a psychologist, however, she decided to focus on wrestling in 2019. She officially signed with WWE in 2023.

‘I’m nothing less than a star’

After joining WWE earlier this year, Jade said: “I’m nothing short of a superstar. What did you think would happen? Did you hear the crowd for the other women like they raved about me? I do not think,”

“But I want to thank the WWE fan base because you guys showed up and performed tonight. I’m nothing short of a superstar, I’m Jade Cargill, this was my first performance. Prepare yourself for everything that comes with me.”

Meet Rising Star Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill signed a multi-year contract with WWE in 2023 following her career in AEW, where she held the title of AEW TBS Champion for a total of 508 days.

Before becoming a professional wrestler, she attended Sebastian River High School and Vero Beach High School, where she played basketball and led teams to district championships.

Jade began her athletic career in basketball, playing for Jacksonville University where she studied social sciences.

Jade made an appearance in January at the Royal Rumble where she lasted 11 minutes and three seconds with Liv Morgan.
