PROFESSIONAL wrestler Scott “Big Cat” Henson has died at age 40.

Henson was a veteran of the independent scene and an extremely popular figure among his peers.

“Canadian Apex Wrestling is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our tag team champions and dear friend, Scott Henson,” a statement read.

“Our hearts are heavy with sadness and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

“Scott, your impact on the Pacific Northwest wrestling community is immeasurable.

“You were a driving force behind the careers of many, and your contributions often went unnoticed.

“We love you, Scott, and your absence leaves a void that words cannot express. We will miss you so much.”

Tributes from across the wrestling world soon poured in following the tragic news of Henson’s passing.

Former WWE and TNA Champion Flash Morgan Webster posted: “When I heard this morning about Scott Henson’s passing, I was speechless.

“I spent hours at the Wild Boar house watching VCW MVs growing up. Bigger than life isn’t even close!

“The wrestling world will never know how much he influenced the things we see today.

Nicole Matthews added: “I am very sad to hear of Scott Henson’s passing.

“Our careers have often run parallel, but we’ve shared more locker rooms over the last two years, and I can say no one had a sense of humor like Scott.
