On X, she wrote: “On Saturday, June 15th, after 4 years of treatment, 12 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 bone marrow transplants, radiation therapy and countless experimental tests, we lost Jamie Stacey @JamesCastle49 to acute myeloid leukemia.

“Thank you for giving me the best 9 years of my life.”

Which WWE stars have paid tribute to James Castle?

A RevPro Wrestling spokesperson led tributes and posted: “Former tag team champion, Jamie was a super talent in the ring.

“The first fighter trained from scratch at our Portsmouth school and without his help behind the scenes RevPro wouldn’t be here today.

A gentleman who had time for everyone and will never be forgotten. Prayers and thoughts for Zoe and the families.

Former NXT UK Joseph Conners wrote: “I’m so sorry. Thoughts to you and your family.”

And Drake Maverick added, “I’m sorry to read this. My sincere condolences.”

“We are saddened by the news of his passing.

“He was a great addition to our locker room and team. We send our condolences to his family and friends.”

Professional wrestler Franke T added: “I remember the first time I trained at RevPro and was warmly welcomed by James Castle.

“He then eliminated me on my debut with a bang.

“A gentleman who had time for everyone and will never be forgotten. Prayers and thoughts for Zoe and the families.”

One fan recalled: “He always gave everything and always had fun.

“And he was always friendly when we and our son said hi.
