Who was wrestler Scott ‘Big Cat’ Henson?

Born on July 13, 1983, Scott Henson was a Canadian wrestler from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Henson was associated with Canadian Apex Wrestling.

He was primarily known by his wrestling alias Big Cat.

Part of his Big Cat persona involved him arriving to the ring dressed in cat costumes.

Specifically, he would wear gloves that looked like cat paws.

Henson also co-hosted the podcast The Worst Year of Our Lives with his tag team partner Softpaws.

On June 16, 2024, 40-year-old Henson was pronounced dead.

“Canadian Apex Wrestling is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our Tag Team Champions and dear friend, Scott Henson,” CAW said in a statement via X.

“Our hearts are heavy with sadness and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

“Scott, your impact on the Pacific Northwest wrestling community is immeasurable.

“You were a driving force behind the careers of many, and your contributions often went unnoticed.

“We love you, Scott, and your absence leaves a void that words cannot express. We will miss you so much.”

Who is Henson’s tag team partner Drew ‘Soft Paws’ Sarian?

Although he primarily worked as an independent wrestler, Henson often had tag team matches with Drew ‘Soft Paws’ Sarian.

Henson and Sarian remained close friends and collaborators.

“I don’t know how I’m going to live the rest of my life without you,” Sarian posted in a tribute to the late Henson.

“Today was the first day I woke up knowing I didn’t have my tag team partner, my best friend, the funniest, most outrageous and ridiculous person I’ve ever met in my life.

“I spent almost 24 hours straight with you and a few hours after we parted ways, you were gone.

“My entire adult life has been sharing memories with you.

“The fact that I will never be able to tell any of our inside jokes out loud to anyone ever again hurts me.

“That I won’t hear your laugh again when we both see or hear something that ‘tickles’ us.

“It may seem ridiculous to some, but it feels like I have lost my partner, my heterosexual life partner.

“I love you, Scott William Henson. You were my best friend and I will love you forever.”
