Who is Rhea Ripley?

‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley, real name Demi Bennett, is an Australian professional wrestler.

Born on October 11, 1996 in Adelaide, South Australia, the ring star is known for her metalhead attire.

Her signature move is called ‘Riptide’ and the latest move in Ripley’s career saw the formidable athlete join Monday Night Raw.

She began competing in the sport in 2013 with Riot City Wrestling in Australia, before being invited to try out for WWE.

Unfortunately, when they discovered she was only 19, the opportunity was taken away because the minimum age is 21.

That didn’t stop the promising young star, who toured his home country and Japan for the next four years.

She won the RCW Women’s Champion title in 2014 and 2016 before finally signing with WWE in 2017.

After losing in the Mae Young Classic competition the following year, Ripley was moved to the NXT UK brand, where she made history as the first NXT UK Women’s Champion two years in a row.

In 2019, the athlete participated in WWE main roster events.

In 2023, Ripley became the first woman to win a Royal Rumble match after entering at number one and defeating all 29 other competitors.

Since winning WrestleMania 39, the popular Australian has dominated the women’s division with some impressive title defenses against the likes of Natalya, Raquel Rodriguez and Zoey Stark.

The Adelaide star’s rise has seen her amass a strong fan base with 1 million followers on Twitter alone.

Your officer website describes her as: “A standout at the WWE Performance Center and the Mae Young Classic, Rhea Ripley entered NXT UK already a seasoned and vicious wrestler with one goal in mind: destroy the NXT UK women’s division.

“The ultra-aggressive and terrifyingly strong Aussie has embraced her true self, and that spells bad news for anyone who faces her, as she already had the physical assets to go toe-to-toe with any Superstar in sports entertainment.”

Who is Liv Morgan?

Liv Morgan is a WWE superstar and a fan favorite.

She is a former world tag team champion and continues to be one of the biggest attractions.

Ripley took down Morgan in July 2023 and has been seeking revenge ever since.

Following his opponent’s shoulder injury, Morgan issued a harsh warning on the show and said: “Everyone is mad at me, and why?

“Where was the sympathy for me when Rhea literally ripped my shoulder off and put me on the shelf for eight months.

“Ah, yes, there weren’t any. So you know what? An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a shoulder for a shoulder. This is karma at its best.

“Rhea got exactly what she deserved. Want to know what the best part is? This is not the end of the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.

“This is just the beginning. Because the end is Liv Morgan as women’s world champion.”

Morgan’s WWE dream was originally sparked in the backyard of his family’s New Jersey home.

“I first watched wrestling when I was five years old and immediately fell in love with it,” she said.

“I am very thankful and grateful that I was able to achieve my dream.”

Joe DeFranco, a world-renowned strength and conditioning coach, brought her to the gym and put her through her paces alongside NFL stars preparing for the new season.

“I didn’t even know how to work out and I told him I love WWE and I want to be a WWE superstar,” she admitted.

“I thought it would be natural because I grew up as a long-time fan, but it took me a long time to get the hang of anything.

“So when I started training, it felt surreal. I knew the opportunity in front of me and I was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I came home with a contract.”

The first time Liv fought professionally was in 2014.

But after 10 successful years in the industry, Liv is thinking about expanding her career.

She had a cameo in a film with Kill Bill star Uma Thurman, and also appeared on her favorite show, where she was murdered by one of her childhood heroes.

And a blockbuster crossover showdown with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion is in the cards.

What happened to Rhea Ripley and did she vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship?

Rhea Ripley was eliminated from the WWE Women’s World Championship on Monday, April 15 after suffering a shoulder injury.

The athlete will now be forced to take a break from the sport for months.

It was reported that the incident happened backstage during Monday Night Raw during Ripley’s confrontation with Liv Morgan.

Morgan knocked down her opponent, throwing a chair at her and slamming her into the wall, where Ripley is believed to have suffered a shoulder injury.

The WWE star acknowledged the ordeal on the latest Monday Night Raw and confirmed that he will be away for “a few months”.

She swore: “When I return, I will come back for blood.”

Ripley has now won her title belt, which she may now be forced to give up after winning it at WrestleMania 39.

It happened less than two weeks after ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley defeated ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40.
