The veteran broadcaster is expected to work alongside commentators Wade Barrett and Corey Graves.

The team of Pat McAfee and Michael Cole will remain intact.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque had nothing but good things to say about Tessitore’s addition.

“Whether it’s a world title fight that has the world buzzing or a college football rivalry that captures the nation’s attention, Joe’s voice provides that big-event feel every time he’s behind the microphone,” said Levesque.

“We are thrilled to have Joe join legendary WWE announcer Michael Cole and our esteemed team of announcers, bringing his signature energy and meticulous preparation to our WWE broadcasts each week.”

Tessitore is just as excited as Levesque to join the announcing team.

“It’s an honor to be part of WWE. The recent success and trajectory are undeniable,” said Tessitore.

Tessitore praised WWE’s announced teams and production after being present at Wrestlemania XL.

Fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts on WWE’s newest addition.

“The perfect fit. I’m looking forward to him calling WWE weekly. He’s actually a wrestling fan, so that makes it even better. Welcome, Joe!” one fan raved about X.

“Excited to see this!” a fifth fan said.

Tessitore is expected to remain in his role at ESPN and ABC and will continue calling college football games.

The 53-year-old broadcaster has a lot of experience in calling major events.

He’s called primetime games on ESPN and ABC Saturday Night, the College Football Playoff and more.

While working at ABC, Tessitore had the opportunity to call some Monday Night Football, NFL Pro Bowl and Wildcard Playoff games.

Tessitore also commented on the main fights of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Terence Crawford, among many others.

The exact date Tessitore will begin calling WWE games is unknown, but he is expected to join the team in late summer.
