At the end of Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Title clash with Cody Rhodes, the ring icon was dismantled Dwayne Johnson after Rock interfered in the match.

After his signature gong sounded, The Undertaker appeared behind The Rock to deliver an emphatic chokeslam before disappearing.

His intervention secured a famous triumph for Rhodes and left the stands ecstatic.

After capping off a phenomenal 30-year wrestling career with a Boneyard Match at WrestleMania in 2020, he said this month’s cameo gave him some much-needed closure.

The 59-year-old said in his Six feet under podcast: “I’ve been struggling with this since I retired, but [WrestleMania] weekend gave me closure. It really happened.

“It was fun. Doing this for so long and being involved in it, and how important that storyline was and is.

“When it was all over and I was running out of the building, I thought, ‘I’m okay now.’

“My last game was at the Boneyard and there was no one there. [WrestleMania XL] It was a moment of clarity I had.

“I knew it, just like I knew the Boneyard Match would end at four in the morning.

“I’m fine. I had no idea, but when I finished, I thought ‘You’re good, man, it’s time to turn the page and go to the next chapter.’

“It was a really cool weekend, and to cap it off and wrap up the wrestling part of my career, it was really cool and a great feeling.”

WWE fans are hoping more cameos are on the way after rushing to social media to celebrate WrestleMania’s incredible finale.

One wrestling enthusiast tweeted: “JOHN CENA!!! SETH ROLLINS WITH SHIELD GEAR!!

Another posted: “The return of The Rock, John Cena and Undertaker brings back feelings I forgot I had.”

A third wrote: “We saw The Rock, John Cena and Undertaker share the ring with the new generation in 2024. Perfect mix of nostalgia and new age.”
