ALL is fair in love and wrestling, right? Well, let’s hope so because we’re heading towards a big showdown on Saturday.

All of Elite Wrestling has known for some time about this weekend’s showdown between their Collision show and World Wrestling Entertainment’s premium Summerslam.

And AEW made what seemed like a prudent move, moving Collision from its normal 8pm ET slot to 5pm.

This seemed to make sense for both sides. But WWE raised the stakes again.

WWE has announced that the SummerSlam pre-show will now be three hours long, starting at 4pm ET.

We think this might be a coincidence. But we also believe in the tooth fairy.

Typically, the pre-show lasts two hours for big WWE shows, not three.

But attracting viewers from the start is crucial, and it’s possible that for many people, watching WWE’s big show means staying with it all night.

The evidence says Collision will do better when not facing WWE.

The last two episodes of Collision facing WWE had 300,000 and 306,000 viewers, while the show avoiding WrestleMania had 463,000 tuning in, according to Fightful.

Fans were quick to give their opinion on the pre-show news on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

“This is no accident,” said one fan.

“We really need three hours for the show, ha?” another fan said.

“We’ll be there, I can’t wait,” said a third fan.

“This is a sneaky move,” said a fourth fan.

The Miz will also host SummerSlam this weekend, with the show taking place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

Sports fans will know the location very well as it is the Cleveland Browns Stadium, which typically hosts NFL games.
