WWE is implementing a major programming change on Monday Night Raw following the success of Summer Slam.
Summer Slam saw record attendance for WWE on Saturday, and they are looking to capitalize on that viewership.
With many of the Summer Slam storylines continuing on Monday Night Raw, WWE decided to go commercial-free for the first hour of the show.
Monday Night Raw GM Adam Pearce explained the change in a video on X.
“Couples, rumors, the first hour tonight is completely commercial-free,” Pearce said.
“Don’t forget the main event, Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers will oppose The Wyatt Six in a six-man tag team match.
“First time in action on Raw tonight in Baltimore, plus all its Summer Slam follow-ups.”
Fans shared their excitement and theories about the event on social media following the announcement.
“Tonight is going to be epic, I can’t wait,” said one fan.
“BANGGGGG FREE COMMERCIAL 50 MINUTES,” said another fan.
“Having plot reasons, especially involving GMs, for talent to appear on other shows is such a small detail that it goes a long way,” said a third fan.
“Come on, I can’t wait. DOM LIV REAH JAY USO AND EVERYTHING”, said a fourth fan.
“Good, I can’t wait for the big show tonight. It will be amazing,” said a fifth fan.
Summer Slam was a huge success on Saturday night, with some of WWE’s biggest stars in attendance.
Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title against Solo Sikoa, but not without a little help.
Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return to defeat Sikoa and save Rhodes from defeat.
Reigns showed up in a shirt that said OTC, original tribal chief, to show Sikoa who the real boss is.
In other smaller storylines, Dominik Mysterio left Rhea Ripley for Liv Morgan after she defended her Women’s Title.
This storyline is expected to continue on Monday Night Raw, as well as the Judgment Day group fallout.
Between Dom and Ripley’s split and Finn Balor’s betrayal of Damian Priest, there should be a lot to see on Monday night.
