US will invest US$2.2 billion in the country’s electrical grid

(Reuters) – The U.S. Department of Energy said on Tuesday it is investing $2.2 billion in the nation’s power grid for eight projects in 18 states to protect against growing threats from extreme weather events, reduce costs and catalyze additional capacity.
