Aon social media, iPhone users reported waking up to the frightening realization that they had missed their alarm. “In the last six days of school, I have accumulated seven delays,” he said. TikTok user CarterPCS. “I could have sworn it was because my alarm wasn’t going off.”
“I was literally late for work the other day because I slept through all four alarms I had set,” Charkaylotte, TikTok user retold. “I was confused because I never sleep with an alarm clock.”
In a report published on Tuesday, Apple told the Today Show who was in fact aware of a glitch that was causing alarms to not make noise for many users. The company says it’s working on a fix, but it’s unclear when exactly that will be ready.
TIME has reached out to Apple for more information.
Meanwhile, some social media users, including TikTok’s CarterPCS, have recommended changing the settings to help resolve the issue. Specifically, they noted that Apple’s “attention awareness features,” which cause the phone to automatically brighten the screen and lower the volume while you look at it, could be causing the problem.
To disable “Attention Aware Features”, go to “Settings” and select “Face ID & Password”. You will be asked to enter your password, after which you can scroll down and see the option to turn features on or off to see if that helps resolve your alarm clock issues.
