A Huawei announced this Monday (6) its new smartwatch, the Band 9, which will start sales in Brazil on Wednesday (8). The device promises a battery life of up to nine days and advanced monitoring technology sleep.

The watch arrives in the country for R$299 in a promotion until May 26th. After this period, it will cost R$399. The launch comes shortly after the announcement of Samsung’s Galaxy Fit3, which arrived in Brazil in February and also focuses on sleep and measuring the user’s health.

According to the company, the smartwatch supports fast charging, where five minutes at the socket can offer up to two days of use and a full charge would be done in 45 minutes.

The device uses the fourth generation of the company’s sleep monitoring algorithm, HuaweiTruSleep. With it, it is possible to measure the main indicators of the rest period, such as heart rate and blood oxygenation, generating reports on each stage of rest (light, heavy and REM).

When it comes to sports, the company announced that the device recognizes 100 sports modes, including running, cycling and swimming. The watch’s Running Capacity Index (RAI) system detects maximum oxygen consumption, training load, ideal recovery time and recovery heart rate.

At first, the Band 9 will only be sold in pink and black. The white, blue and yellow models are expected to arrive soon.
