Brazilians send more stickers, interact in more polls and send 4 times more voice messages on WhatsApp than any other population. The curiosity was publicized by Mark Zuckerbergfounder & CEO of Meta, in a video broadcast at the event Meta Conversationsin São Paulo, this Thursday (06).
“You’ve turned ‘Zap Zap’ into your own and are some of the most active people in the world on the app. A country [Brasil] who has truly embraced the power of messaging to connect, express and do business,” said Zuckerberg.
In 2024, the platform turns 15 years old and the date was marked by the announcement of the availability of Meta’s artificial intelligence in Portuguese for July. The idea is that the algorithm brings benefits to companies, such as setting up an agent that can chat with customers, provide support and facilitate business.
About 3 out of 4 adults in Brazil send messages to a company at least once a week, according to a study by Kantar, which carries out market research. At the event, Zuckerberg also mentioned the ready availability of “optimized delivery tools,” which allow companies to send messages to the people who are most likely to be interested in that topic rather than delivering the same message to every customer.
The Meta founder also said the company is testing a way for businesses to use AI to create “Click to WhatsApp” ads directly from the WhatsApp Business app.
“While AI has great potential to help companies serve people in the future, it is already supporting companies in reaching customers with relevant messages,” he said.
