(Reuters) – Virgin Galactic has transported four tourists to the edge of space and back aboard its space plane, marking its second flight this year, the company founded by Richard Branson said on Saturday.
The Galactic 07 mission carried Turkish, North American and Italian passengers to an altitude of about 55 miles (88.51 km) in a flight that lasted just over an hour.
The space tourism company said the mission took off and returned to Spaceport America in New Mexico on Saturday.
It marked the last commercial flight of Virgin’s VSS Unity spaceplane, as the company is now producing its fourth-generation spacecraft that are expected to enter commercial service in 2026, the company said in a statement.
