(Reuters) – Boeing Co is pulling engineers from its experimental X-66A plane program and other projects to help support its commercial development programs and speed up deliveries of existing jets, Air Current reported on Thursday.

The X-66A project is NASA and Boeing’s first experimental aircraft focused on helping the U.S. achieve its goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in aviation.

According to the report, which cites an internal memo, the plane maker said it was important to meet deliveries of its 737 and 777 jets.

Boeing did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
