A new test indicates that there may soon be the possibility of creating personalized profile images using artificial intelligence on WhatsApp. The information was published by the specialized website WABetaInfo on the 2nd.

The chances are high that the feature will be added to the Imagine function, being able to create various types of images based on what the user requests. The screenshot revealed by WABetaInfo reads: “take photos of yourself once, then imagine yourself in any setting, from a forest to space.” In other words: it is possible that, based on photos chosen by the user, the AI generates creative scenarios for the image.

To this end, you will need to take some selfie-style photographs so that the artificial intelligence can capture all the details of your face. The images will form a database for AI to create images in the future.

Once the photos were taken, it would be necessary to type the term “Imagine Me” in the Meta AI chat, artificial intelligence from Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, to activate the artificial intelligence.

On the same screen published by WABetaInfo, the products of artificial intelligence work are displayed. In one photo, you see people in a forest; in another, with flowers on her head; in the last one, with headphones in a more futuristic environment.

According to information from WABetaInfo, the Imagine Me feature will be optional, and you will need to activate the mechanism manually in WhatsApp settings.

The new feature is expected to be launched later this year. The mechanism is already under development in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.

Meta has been facing difficulties in implementing its artificial intelligence. Recently, Facebook’s terms of use were updated in Brazil to allow the use of photos, videos and captions published by users to train Meta AI. The ultimate goal would be to develop a technology similar to ChatGPT.

On the 2nd, the Brazilian government even ordered, under penalty of fine, the suspension of the collection of information from Brazilians to improve Meta’s AI.
