According to the notes, “This update provides important bug fixes and addresses a rare issue where photos that have suffered database corruption may reappear in the Photos library even if they have been deleted.”
The supposedly deleted photos that appeared at the top of the user’s “recent” photos included nude photos in some cases, and at least one person reported that they reappeared on an iPad that was deleted and sold to someone else.
Obviously, users should install the update as soon as possible, however, it’s unclear how many people might be at risk of this, what images are likely to reappear, or what you can do with a device that is no longer in your control. .
