Apple announced “Apple Intelligence” at WWDC 2024, the name for a new set of AI capabilities for iPhone, Mac and more.

The company that previously refused to use the term “artificial intelligence” when talking about its machine learning capabilities now relies on AI enhancements across its platforms. The company has supported companies like Google and Microsoft, which began pushing forward with their own generative AI capabilities as soon as OpenAI broke Apple Intelligence’s dam opening in 2022. Now, it’s making a play to catch up.

Apple said its AI features will be able to do things for you in apps. It will be able to manage your notifications, automatically write things for you or summarize texts in emails and other applications.
