Reddit’s “ask me anything” posts, or AMAs, can feel more like special events than standard posts with a twist, thanks to changes going sitewide on Thursday. While none of the updates reflect a total overhaul, they do put a new kind of emphasis on the popular Q&A sessions.

Starting Thursday, a new AMA tab will offer special options, like the ability to schedule and promote an AMA in a single post. Post creators can also add up to five cohosts, whose responses are marked as such in the comments section. When the AMA is over, hosts can also add a final note with final thoughts, links, or final promotional information.

For regular site users, a new RSVP option will allow them to receive notifications so they don’t miss any. Once the AMA is live, new tabs will allow readers to filter comments by questions the hosts have and haven’t answered. Additionally, scheduled AMAs will receive labels stating whether they are coming soon, are already live, or have already been approved.

Here is an image gallery with some of the changes:

Like many people, I always feel the need to prepare whenever Reddit announces they’re doing something new. But these tweaks to the site’s Q&A sections feel like genuine improvements. Having missed my share of AMAs that I really wanted to attend because I simply forgot, I look forward to getting reminders for them.
