Spotify gives up trying to charge for song lyrics

Spotify has stopped trying to make users pay for song lyrics. After expanding a test that put the feature behind a Premium paywall, Spotify is now reversing the change.

A Spotify spokesperson says Engagement that the company will “expand the availability of lyrics to Spotify Free users so more people can enjoy viewing more lyrics, globally,” adding that it will be available to all users “in the coming weeks.” Spotify did not respond immediately On the edgerequest for comment.
