The New York Times is reporting that after 2,000 competitors arrived at Allegiant Stadium in July of this year, they were barely fed and did not receive their prescribed medications or clean underwear in time — despite providing them to the organizers themselves. (The 1,000 competitors who pass can return to the Beast Games Amazon show, but this segment is for Donaldson’s YouTube channel.)

O Times’ History is filled with anecdotes from more than a dozen contestants who say they were mistreated by organizers, like this one:

One contestant said she was initially denied the food she needed to take her medication and was told by staff members that she didn’t really need to eat. After asking repeatedly, she received half a banana.

But MrBeast isn’t apologizing, at least not yet. In fact, he is not even mentioned in the Times. Instead, the NYT received a text message from a MrBeast spokesperson who blamed external factors, including CrowdStrike, rather than any poor planning on their part:

“In a text message, a MrBeast spokesperson said filming “was unfortunately complicated by the CrowdStrike incident, extreme weather conditions, and other unexpected logistical and communications issues.” The spokesperson said MrBeast has initiated a formal review and “has taken steps to ensure we learn from this experience.”
