While everyone is excited about Star Wars Outlaws, which releases later this month on August 30th, there’s another triple-A Star Wars video game announcement.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released last year to critical acclaim, scoring an impressive 86 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.

The second game in the Star Wars Jedi series, continues the story of Cal Kestis from the original Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game.

It introduced a number of new elements, such as Cal’s ability to use five different types of lightsabers, allowing players to change their combat style.

The game was originally released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC in April 2023, but it was recently revealed that it will be coming to two more platforms in the near future.

The official Twitter account for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor posted a statement saying that the game will be released soon for PS4 and Xbox One.

Both ports of the game will be released in September 17, 2024, just a few weeks after the release of Star Wars Outlaws.

Although the new ports allow millions of people to play the game, many fans still question the decision.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launched almost four years ago in 2020, and the previous generation of consoles dates back to 2013.

This has led many to question why publishers would still choose to release new releases on such old hardware.

One comment says: “This is a bad idea. What’s wrong with finally abandoning 11-year-old consoles?”

Another person added: “When is the PS2 launching?”

Others were skeptical about how the game would run on older hardware, given its performance on newer consoles.

Someone said: “Last-gen gamers will love the super-smooth 5 FPS experience.”

Another wrote more rudely: “What the hell are you thinking?
