LEAKS has become a huge part of the gaming industry as gamers around the world are always on the lookout for more information about upcoming games.
This week there have been a number of leaks from official sources, including The Patrick Star Game listed on an online store and tweets from PlayStation about the release date for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.
While these leaks come from visible sources that anyone can find, they aren’t the only places players look for information.
Square Enix previously revealed that its latest Final Fantasy game will be coming to PC via digital stores like Steam, but as of now a release date has not been announced.
Other games in the series, like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, are already on Steam, but the latest games have a temporary exclusivity agreement with PlayStation.
Typically, these exclusivity deals last for a year, and players expect them to come to other platforms like PC after that.
Despite originally being released on June 22, 2023, Final Fantasy 16 remains exclusive to PlayStation.
The exclusivity period may be longer than usual, as the game has received two DLC packs, with the latest release on April 18, 2024.
However, fans believe a Final Fantasy 16 PC announcement is coming soon following a driver update from Nvidia.
Nvidia makes the most popular graphics cards for gaming PCs and releases driver updates periodically to ensure games run smoothly.
As seen by PC GamerSome Nvidia users took to Reddit to show others something suspicious they found in the driver code.
Players have identified a profile for Final Fantasy 16 in the latest driver update, despite the game not being available on PC.
Additionally, Nvidia releases full patch notes for each of the driver updates, but a Final Fantasy 16 profile was not mentioned.
These clues have led fans to believe that a Final Fantasy 16 PC release date announcement will be coming soon.
Of course, this doesn’t provide a precise timeline for when the PC port will be released, but it makes sense that Nvidia would only update its drivers for this shortly before its release.
Some people speculate that the announcement will take place on August 20, 2024, during the opening ceremony of Gamescom, one of the largest gaming conventions in the world.
