There are still two months until CALL of Duty: Black Ops 6 releases on October 25, 2024, but Activision is giving us little glimpses of what’s to come.
A new cinematic trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies was released yesterday (August 7), and now there’s even more for Call of Duty fans.
The first trailer gave us a glimpse into the Zombies story, which will see the team break out of Edward Richtofen’s prison.
They are helped by Dr. William Peck and a new character, smuggler Maya Aguinaldo, before fighting breaks out between the two groups.
The fight comes to an abrupt halt when an alarm sounds across the island, warning them that a new zombie outbreak has just begun.
While the trailer revealed a lot about the mode’s story, we didn’t see any of the gameplay.
That’s why Activision released a second trailer that focuses specifically on this aspect of the game.
The new trailer is two minutes long and picks up where the cinematic trailer left off.
Even though it’s called a gameplay trailer, it still features a lot of cinematics interspersed with first-person shooter action.
Gameplay is similar to previous Zombies modes, where your squad works together to unite against hordes of undead enemies.
However, the big announcement from the trailer is that Round-Based Zombies mode is back.
It’s like a survival version of Zombies, where enemies arrive in increasingly larger and difficult waves and you see how long your team can survive.
In recent entries, Zombies has moved from this horde-style gameplay to open-world exploration with puzzle solving, but this iteration was not as popular with players.
Fans are particularly excited to see the round zombies return to test their shooting skills.
One Twitter user wrote: “We’re back. Treyarch never fails, the absolute GOAT studio. Let’s go!”
Another added: “It feels like Zombies again. I adore.”
Many pointed out in the trailer what appeared to be new weapons they wanted to try, and the general reaction is overwhelmingly positive.
It seems like people are happy to see their favorite mode return, and while this could be seen as a step back for the franchise, players see it as a move in the right direction.
