GRAND Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games on the planet, with players around the world eagerly awaiting news about the next game.

GTA 6 is expected to release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, although developer Rockstar has a history of releasing its games a little later than expected.

Many Xbox gamers are wondering if the game could be featured on Xbox Game Pass after its release, and while it wasn’t expected to happen, some fans were holding out hope.

Unfortunately for these fans, the CEO of Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has apparently ruled out GTA 6’s inclusion on Game Pass or any other subscription service.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 could change consumer habits and normalize subscription services because it will be Game Pass on day one.

Zelnick said, “I think offering a top-tier title at a premium price on a subscription service, day and date, will drive consumers to that subscription service for at least a period of time.”

Despite this, Zelnick says Take-Two won’t change its stance on putting its games on subscription services on day one, even though it welcomes the idea.

Zelnick said: “It will not affect our decisions, because our decisions are rational.”

GTA 6 will be the first new game in the GTA series in 12 years when it launches next year, following the release of GTA 5 and GTA Online in 2013.

The game was officially announced late last year with a release date of 2025, but GTA fans have reduced the release date of the long-awaited game following Take-Two’s financial report.

Doubts arose over the game’s release date when voice actors from America’s largest actors’ union went on strike against game companies, leading many to believe the release could fail.

Players need not worry as GTA 6 is unlikely to be delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, although actors can still choose to boycott the game if they wish.
