CALL OF DUTY fans are excited about the reveal of the logo and title for the next game in Activision’s massive shooter series.
The announcement came after the game’s logo was leaked on Thursday in a newspaper advertisement.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the title of the next CoD game, and publisher Activision has confirmed that a full reveal is coming June 9.
That’s when a Call of Duty Direct presentation will take place, right after a big Xbox Games Showcase, which starts at 6pm UK time / 1pm ET.
This Xbox showcase will be the first following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
The Black Ops 6 Direct was first teased on April 30, with the game’s title ‘redacted’.
Following leaks earlier today, Xbox and Activision took to Twitter/X to reveal the official name.
According to another teaser found on the game’s official website, the upcoming title’s tagline will be “The truth lies“, suggesting fake news and war propaganda as Black Ops 6’s main themes.
This will be the first game in the Black Ops subseries since 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Microsoft is planning to release the next Call of Duty game on Game Pass as a daily release for subscribers.
If new owner Activision confirms this, it would mark a major change in how the series is sold to gamers.
Call of Duty is one of the best-selling game franchises of all time, with more than 400 million copies sold.
