PC gamers can score another freebie this week, and this time it’s rated 83 on Metacritic.
Mega Sale 2024 on the Epic Games Store is still in full swing, and players receive a free mystery game every Thursday.
Chivalry 2 is this week’s free game and will be available until June 6th, when the Mega Sale will reveal its latest mystery title.
A multiplayer hack-and-slash game set during the Middle Ages, Chivalry 2 will have you fighting other players with hammers, maces, longswords, and other medieval weapons.
The timing of strikes and defenses is critical to combat in the game, and you must be careful when swinging your ax or sword, as “friendly fire” is present in team modes.
Chivalry 2 features a team deathmatch mode where up to 64 players can join the fray and a free-for-all deathmatch mode for absolute medieval mayhem.
Some game modes have team objectives beyond killing opponents, such as storming the enemy castle, killing the enemy duke or escorting yours safely, or defending a position on the map.
The game was critically praised when it released in 2021, but has since received mixed reviews from players.
When not on sale, Chivalry 2 costs £35.99 / $39.99, so Epic Games’ free offer is saving players quite a bit of money.
The game will be available for free until June 6, 2024when the Epic Games Store will offer another free title, which is a mystery for now.
The next title will be the last mystery game as the Mega Sale ends on June 13, 2024.
Last week’s free giveaway was Farming Simulator 22, but you can no longer claim it.
To get Chivalry 2, you must have a free Epic Games Store account.
You can claim the game on the store website or through the Epic Games Launcher.
You will need to install the launcher app on your PC to download and play.
