Developer Ubisoft is offering a free week of Skull and Bones, the publisher’s pirated multiplayer game due out in February 2024.

Players on all platforms can join the adventure from May 30 to June 6, 2024to experience the new 2nd season, called Chorus of Havoc.

The game was released just a few months ago after a decade of development, but has received mixed reactions from critics and players.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot called Skull and Bones “a quadruple-A game,” defending its £70/$70 price point.

However, many players felt that the game lacked quality content to justify the high price.

Right now, S&B is sitting at an average review score of 59 on Metacritic, with a much lower score of 3.5 from Players.

Despite the cool reception at launch, the game is completely free at the moment, so players can see for themselves whether it has improved since launch.

The new season 2 will have players facing off against the eccentric Hubac twins, legendary sea lords sent by Compagnie Royale to kill pirates and take control of the Indian Ocean.

Seasonal content also includes a new sea monster, new world events, and some special festive events.

The game’s latest updates have also brought much-requested features like fleet management to help you build your pirate empire faster.

Skull and Bones free week ends in June 6, midnight PT / 8am UK time for Xbox players, and five hours later, in 5am PT / 1pm UK time for PC and PS5 owners.
