DESTINY 2 released its latest expansion last night, concluding the game’s first 10-year story arc.

The game’s new chapter was met with enormous interest as players rushed to try out the new content, seemingly overwhelming Destiny 2’s servers.

On Steam alone, more than 314,000 players turned out for the game at peak times last night.

The almost unprecedented influx of players nearly broke Destiny 2’s all-time record for concurrent players, but many experienced issues and bugs.

Some fans reported issues logging into the game, while others noted missing cutscenes and being kicked out of activities.

Destiny 2 developer Bungie acknowledged the issues in a post on Redditapologizing to all players and assuring them that the team is working hard to fix the game.

“If connection issues prevented you from playing or enjoying The Final Shape today, we want to apologize.”

“We built The Final Shape to be an emotional, cathartic, story-driven adventure for everyone to enjoy.

“We are very sorry if connection issues and instability are disrupting this experience, and we promise to continue working until these issues are resolved.”

The biggest problem, according to Bungie, is so-called currant bugs, which cause people to get kicked out of game activities and miss cutscenes.

The team’s latest updates confirm that there has been a significant reduction in these errors after the server restart.

On a thread on Twitter/XThe Destiny 2 team reported a number of issues that have now been fixed and offered a temporary solution for players who missed cutscenes.

Players can replay missions by accessing the Replayable Missions node in the middle of the Pale Heart map.

Destiny 2 fans are still advised to check out the BungieHelp Twitter/X account for further updates on the game’s status.
