Others can still see their star level but receive an error when tapping the icon to open the loyalty scheme section in the app.

The outage comes at a pretty busy time as Sony is running its Days of Play 2024 promotion, which also features campaigns and collectibles that players can earn through PS Stars.

Most Days of Play campaigns expire in June 12Therefore, if PlayStation Stars takes a long time to fix, many players will have trouble earning their free rewards.

PS Stars is typically accessed through the PlayStation App on iOS and Android devices.

There is generally no other way for users to check their points and redeem rewards, as PS Stars do not appear on PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Disgruntled PlayStation Stars members appealed Reddit to express your disappointment with the situation.

“Was about to withdraw 10 dollars today // knew I should have done this last night,” one user wrote.

The sudden disappearance of PlayStation Stars caused confusion at first even among some PS support agents.

One user wrote on Reddit that despite reaching the highest level 4 in Stars, they were told by support that they were not a member of the program.

Sony has acknowledged the issue and is now telling players that its engineering team is working hard to restore service.

O PlayStation Stars US homepage now displays a message about the interruption:

“PlayStation Stars is experiencing issues at the moment. Our engineers are aware of the issue and we are working on a solution.”

Players are advised by support to come back later, without specifying a timeframe for the loyalty scheme to reappear.

PlayStation Stars is a free loyalty program launching in October 2022.

It allows PS gamers to earn points on their PlayStation Store game purchases and complete campaigns that earn them digital collectibles.

Points can then be redeemed for other digital gifts or to get select video games, in-game currency or PS Store credit for free.

Recently, Sony added Stellar Blade as a reward in PS Stars, and players could pick up the latest PS5 exclusive game to earn points.

Campaigns often involve playing or purchasing specific games and earning in-game trophies; There are also milestones based on the number of games purchased and rare trophies earned.

As users reach these milestones, they will level up their subscription to unlock exclusive collectibles, priority when contacting PlayStation support, and other perks.

Hopefully the issue with PlayStation Stars will be resolved soon so that users can claim their Days of Play rewards on time.

We’ll keep you updated if PlayStation provides a firm timeframe for players to expect the service to return.
