PLAYSTATION has a huge library of games, but some titles are forever locked on older consoles, making them unplayable on PS4 and PS5.

As promised last month, Sony is changing that by adding PS2 games to its Classics Catalog.

The first three newly added PS2 games are available now at no additional cost, but you will need to be a PS Plus Premium subscriber.

Sly Cooper and Thievius Raccoonus, Tomb Raider: Legend, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars were added to the Classics Catalog today, June 11, 2024.

The three titles are not remasters or remakes, but ported versions of the original games, running on modern consoles through emulation.

Games come complete with trophies and features such as rewind, save states, visual presets including CRT filters, and the option to switch between the PAL and NTSC version of the game.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius RaccoonusKnown simply as Sly Raccoon in Europe, it is an iconic action platformer with stealth elements that was released in 2002 for the PS2.

The game introduced players to Sly Cooper, who quickly became one of the PlayStation’s mascots and the main character of three more games.

Tomb Raider: Legend is the seventh game in the series about British archaeologist Lara Croft; rebooted the franchise and explored a reimagined version of Lara’s origins.

Released in 2006, the game sees Lara Croft on a quest to find the mythical Excalibur, King Arthur’s sword, as she fights enemies and solves puzzles in linear levels.

In Star Wars the Clone Warsyou can drive most vehicles from the Star Wars universe and participate in third-person Jedi fights.

The Clone Wars features a single-player campaign and a local multiplayer mode for up to four players in split-screen.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can download or stream all three new games, and they are not available for the lower Extra tier of PS Plus.

Players who don’t have a subscription and don’t want one can purchase all three games as standalone releases from the PlayStation Store.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus costs £7.99, Tomb Raider Legend costs £15.99 and Star Wars: The Clone Wars will cost just £3.99.
