PLAYSTATION is encountering a bug where people are not getting the store credit they deserve.

The PlayStation Stars loyalty scheme has been offline for over a week and fans are looking for ways to get their money back.

PlayStation Stars works by giving you coins for some PS Store purchases as a sort of cashback on your PlayStation games.

You can also earn Star rewards by completing challenges such as playing games and earning trophies.

However, last week players began to notice that coins were not being added to their accounts and that PlayStation Stars was not working.

PlayStation has now stated that players will receive the coins they earn while PlayStation Stars is offline.

The company hasn’t made it clear how the refund will happen, although it won’t be enacted until PlayStation Stars is restored.

Due to the level of uncertainty surrounding refunds, players have been taking precautions to ensure they receive their coins.

People have been taking screenshots of their purchases and trophies in hopes of being able to archive the evidence in case their coins are not added to their accounts.

Others have asked PlayStation for additional compensation for the Stars interruption, just like when the PlayStation Network was down for weeks in 2011 due to a hack.

PlayStation has not mentioned any form of additional compensation, but says players will receive what they are owed.

There is no current timeline for when PlayStation Stars will be restored, but players’ retroactive currencies should be restored on this date.
