NINTENDO has just announced that the June Direct will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Nintendo Directs announcements are always closely guarded, but that doesn’t mean we can’t guess.

We searched the web for what everyone expects to be announced and gave our opinion on how likely they are to appear.

Here’s what we think will and won’t be shown at June’s Nintendo Direct.

Xenoblade X port – highly unlikely

Everyone wants to be able to play every Xenoblade game on the Nintendo Switch, but Xenoblade X is the missing piece of the puzzle.

Developer Monolith Soft has stated multiple times that there are no plans to return to Xenoblade X, so we think this one will probably never be re-released.

Metroid Prime 4 – very unlikely

Never say never, but we think it’s very unlikely that we’ll see anything from Metroid Prime 4 at the next Nintendo Direct.

It was originally announced in 2017, but in 2019 Nintendo announced that the project would be rebooted.

Nintendo is known for the quality of its games and is unlikely to show anything of the game before it’s ready.

Remasters for Metroid Prime 2 and/or 3 are much more likely, especially considering the success of the original Prime remaster.

While the first game was sidelined after its announcement, with the imminent release of Luigi’s Mansion 2 we think that’s unlikely too.

Another Mario RPG remake – very unlikely

Nintendo recently successfully released the remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and the Super Mario RPG remake had a popular release last year.

It makes sense that after these releases another of Mario’s excellent RPGs would be re-released.

While RPGs have been successful, we think it’s more likely that Nintendo will try to branch out into other Mario games.

Remasters or remakes of Yoshi’s Island or Yoshi’s Wooly World seem more likely at this point.

Remakes or conversions of Wind Waker and/or Twilight Princess – unlikely

Nintendo has been remaking or porting a large number of its oldest and most popular games, and the two that many have been asking for are from the Zelda series.

However, while many Nintendo fans have been asking for ways to play these games, there is no evidence that remakes or ports are in the works.

That’s not to say Nintendo hasn’t listened to players’ wishes, just that they’re unlikely to be released anytime soon.

These types of ports are more likely to come to the Switch’s successor than a later console release.

Silksong – neither likely nor unlikely

Silksong could reappear at any time, so why not in the next Direct?

It has recently appeared on age rating boards, which usually means a release date announcement is imminent.

However, it is never certain, and when it comes to Silksong, everything is a mystery.

Kirby – probably

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the pink blob, although it’s unclear what form it will reappear in.

Some Kirby trademarks have surfaced suggesting that a Rainbow Curse re-release could be in the works.

The last main entry in the series, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, was released in March 2022, meaning not much time has passed since development ended.

Whether it’s a main entry or a re-release, we’re hoping something in the form of a friend will be announced.
