IF you’re stuck playing a PlayStation game, don’t worry – there’s an easy answer.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 has a built-in way to instantly help you get through difficult games.

The PS5 feature is called Game Help, and it gives you specific tips based on where you’re currently stuck.

Originally, this was limited to tips provided for specific moments by game creators.

But earlier this year, Sony expanded the feature with Community Game Help.

This allows you to enlist the help of other players, including in-game images to help you beat a specific puzzle or task.

“When the enhanced Game Help experience with community content launches, Game Help will be available to all PS5 players, with or without a PlayStation Plus subscription,” Sony explained.

“In supported games, PS5 players will be able to contribute their gameplay, see tips from other players, or access developer-created in-game help tips.

“Game developers can also continue to create their own tips videos, as seen in popular titles available today such as The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.”

HOW TO TRY GAME HELP

First, wait until you get stuck in a game.

Then press the PS button on your DualSense joypad to enter the Control Center.

PS5 consoles have secret ‘light codes’ and you should never ignore the ‘blinking blue’

Look for an Action Card that says something like Insider Tips.

Choose this option and you can see tips and even watch clips that explain how to solve the puzzle you’re stuck on.

You can also view in-game help tips in the official PlayStation app so you don’t have to sacrifice any valuable screen space.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE GAME’S HELP

You can accept (or opt out) Community Game Help at any time

If you have a kind soul, you might want to offer your own help to the resource.

This way, other players can benefit from your skillful gameplay.

“If you like sharing your gaming experience with others and are willing to contribute to Community Game Help, you can participate by opting into the Settings menu,” Sony explained.

“You can also cancel at any time, which will remove all of your published videos from Community Game Help.”

In-game Help will even include videos to get you on your way

To do this, go to Captures and Broadcasts > Captures > Automatic Captures > Community Game Help.

Next, you’ll want to choose Join to join the program.

And you’ll be able to set a monthly capture limit to control how many videos can be captured of your gameplay.

“Once you turn on settings, your PS5 will automatically capture a video when you complete a certain activity in a game,” Sony said.

“It will then be reviewed by a moderator and, if approved, your video will be published as an in-game help tip for PlayStation players to watch, learn and evaluate.

“Your videos will be removed from your PS5 console once they are uploaded to our servers, so this will not affect your console storage.”

When one of your videos is published, you will receive a notification.

It is important to note that Sony only records raw footage of the game.

What do the PS5 DualSense controller lights mean?

Here’s what you need to know…

There are several different colors that can appear on your PlayStation joypad.

They can appear on the sides of the Touch Bar on the face of the DualSense – or on the LED bar, which is just below the PS button.

It’s also important to note that you’ll get different lights when you’re connected to a PS5 – or if you’re connected to another device via Bluetooth, like your Apple iPad or gaming PC.

Playing on a PS5

Your PS5 controller will normally show a blue light when connected to a PlayStation.

But if a second DualSense joins, their color will be red.

Green means a third player has been added and purple is used to show a fourth.

You may also find that the bar turns orange. This means you are low on battery.

However, if it’s a pulsing light, it means your PS5 is charging or going into rest mode.

Finally, if the LED bar below the PS button is orange, it means the controller is muted.

This is extremely important: you don’t want to accidentally chat in voice lobbies because your microphone is active.

Playing on another device

When you’re connected to something other than a PS5, the lights take on a different meaning.

A pulse of blue and white light means you are pairing with a device.

And a solid blue indicates that the pairing is complete.

An orange and white light means your DualSense is paired with another device.

And a pulsing orange light signals that your controller is charging.

Therefore, you will not share any images or audio from your webcam, microphone, or group chat.

However, the video may include online IDs or on-screen chat messages depending on the game you are playing.

You can view your published videos in settings and remove them at any time.
