EVERYONE loves doing business, and one of the most popular ways to save money is through loyalty programs.
PlayStation’s most popular rewards program is PlayStation Stars, where players can receive store credits and free games for their purchases and play time.
However, there is another PlayStation rewards program that players use and it will be ending soon.
Sony Rewards is a scheme where players earn points every time they make purchases with their Sony credit card.
These cards are like regular Visa credit cards, except every purchase you make can be used to earn free products.
Many of these rewards are PlayStation Store credits or PlayStation-themed clothing, but you can also get gift cards for other popular stores.
You will no longer be able to join the Sony Rewards program and users will have to spend their points before the end of the year.
If you’re part of Sony Rewards, you even have December 31, 2024, to exchange your reward points for gift cards and items.
After this date, the Sony Rewards website and catalog will be closed and your points will be forfeited.
The Sony Rewards mobile app will also close on this date.
If you have a Sony Rewards credit card, it’s unclear whether it can be used in the future.
While you can no longer earn rewards using the card, you’ll likely still be able to use it to make purchases until it expires.
More clarifications about the future of the credit card will be given later.
For now, credit cards are still functional and cardholders can continue to use them, but they will not earn Sony Rewards points.
