The Mouse Encyclopedia and the Cat Cosmic Atlas are currently on sale on the Nintendo eShop.

Both titles are PEGI 3 rated, making them ideal choices for little ones.

Mouse Encyclopedia

The Mouse Encyclopedia describes itself as “ideal for natural explorers.”

It lets kids roam the forest, gardens and lakes like a brave mouse, while relaxing music plays in the background.

Players can use the magnifying glass to touch things in the game and get more information about more than 160 different species of plants and animals.

The informative game was inspired by classic fairy tales and encyclopedia kids tend to find it charming.

“Although it’s more of an interactive encyclopedia than a traditional game, Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia has a beautiful aesthetic with an emphasis on learning about nature along the way,” one parent wrote in a review on Metacritic.

“If it’s worth anything, my daughter said she would have scored at seven [out of 10] for her “cute and mousey art”, but in the last area even she was flipping through the fact cards and wanting to get back to her normal games.

Cat’s Cosmic Atlas

Cat’s Cosmic Atlas is a similar interactive adventure game, but this time kids can explore space.

The picture book-style educational game gives kids interesting facts about each celestial body they encounter on their journey.

Huge Super Nintendo World will open at new Epic Universe theme park next year – with racing attractions and rollercoasters

It was described by players as a “children’s book come to life”.

Kids can earn badges to track their discoveries and revisit them later.

“This game is really, really good,” wrote another player in a Metacritic review.

“It feels like a cute children’s book come to life. I love it.

“It has a great art style, it’s really cute, it’s informative, it’s fun, I could go on.

“I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is curious about the universe.

“[By the way], if you remain inactive for a few seconds, you can pet the cat. Absolutely perfect. Game 10/10.”

The package offer ends at midnight on July 14th.

Nintendo Switch vs Switch Lite – what’s the difference?

Here’s what you need to know…

  • The Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t connect to your television – it’s just portable
  • Its Joy-Con controls are not removable and are built into the body of the device
  • There’s no TV dock, so you’ll charge your device using a cable
  • Some games will have restrictions due to the console being portable only
  • There are three new colors: yellow, gray and turquoise
  • The Switch Lite is $100/£100 cheaper than the Switch proper
